Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 cups bread flour
- 1 1/2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 can (28 oz) whole peeled tomatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and black pepper
- 1 lb shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the bread flour, instant yeast, and salt.
- Add the olive oil and warm water, and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Drain the tomatoes and crush them with your hands in a bowl.
- In a saucepan, heat the olive oil and garlic over medium heat until fragrant.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle shape that will fit a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Grease the pan with olive oil and transfer the dough to the pan, pressing it down evenly.
- Add the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the dough, followed by the tomato sauce and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake the pizza for 20-25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
